A Little Detour
Here you will find me ranting when I am happy, sad, mad or just bored. Don't judge me on my writing skills or my humor..both pretty much non-existant. I guess I am basically just using this blog as some sort of therapeutic device and its much cheaper than a shrink.

Sista Time!
Last weekend I went to Washington DC for the YSC/LBBC Breast Cancer Conference. I got to spend time with many of my sistas. It was a very emotionally charged weekend with endless laughing, many drinks, a little learned knowledge and a few tears.

What was I thinking????
"You are going to break your neck wearing those things" They are so cute...I'll just be verrrry careful. "They are 6" inch heels that is a long way down" Yeah but they look hot...
I wore them NYE...All night I strutted around in these shoes and even danced. Standing....standing was another story. I was talking with some friends when I felt a little wobble in my ankle. Uh-oh...I'm gonna go down. Ankle or butt? Ankle or butt? Quick thinking on my part I kicked my feet out in front of me and landed flat on my a....backside. Oh so graceful. Fortunately I only bruised my arm (and ego) as I hit my forearm against the hard stainless steel of a patio heater knocking out the flame...drawing all eyes on me.
These shoes look so cute on my shelf.....

My Boy Is Growing Up
This is Joshua's school picture for this year. When I opened the envelope, the first thing I thought was "Wow he is getting so big"...Joshua is such an amazingly bright kid with the most incredible sense of humor. He is my treasure. It seems like just yesterday he was learning how to walk. Time flies by so fast....

I Run for Life
It's been years since they told her about it
The darkness her body possessed
And the scars are still there in the mirror
Everyday that she gets herself dressed
Though the pain is miles and miles behind her
And the fear is now a docile beast
If you ask her why she is still running
She'll tell you it makes her complete
I run for hope
I run to feel
I run for the truth
For all that is real
I run for your mother your sister your wife
I run for you and me my friend
I run for life
It's a blur since they told me about it
How the darkness had taken its toll
And they cut into my skin and they cut into my body
But they will never get a piece of my soul
And now I'm still learning the lesson
To waken when I hear the call
And if you ask me why I am still running I'll tell you
I run for us all
And someday if they tell you about it
If the darkness knocks on your door
Remember her remember me
We will be running as we have before
Running for answers
Running for more
